Concrete Patios: For a Backyard You Actually Use

A good patio changes how you live at home. It becomes the spot for Sunday cookouts, morning coffee, and evenings with friends. Coral Springs Concrete Company designs and pours concrete patios that fit your yard, handle Florida weather, and look like they belong with your home.

■ Purpose-Driven Design

Start With How You'll Use It

The best patios begin with a simple question: what do you want to do out there? Your answer shapes the size, shape, and finish.

Dining & Outdoor Kitchens

Lounging & Fire Pits

Poolside Sun & Play

Demands generous clearance for chairs and barbecue stations. We finish with a tight broom texture or sealed colored surface that resists grease splatters and cleans easily.

Requires wider radius planning for sectional seating and safe heat clearances. Stamped natural slate patterns or tinted concrete create a grounded, intimate evening escape.

Prioritizes barefoot traction and water runoff. We pour subtle textures and engineered pitch lines that keep water away from the foundation while staying comfortable under South Florida sun.

Custom Dimensions Built For Real Yard Layouts

From compact patio expansions to multi-zone slabs, we assess ground slope and soil stability to make sure your space works exactly as intended.

Patio Styles We Build

Classic Broom-Finish Patio

Clean, simple, and easy to maintain. A fine texture gives good grip when wet. It's the best choice if you want a solid surface with a lower budget.

Stamped Patio

Choose patterns that look like stone, slate, or wood plank. Color is mixed into the concrete or added to the surface, so the look lasts.

Colored and Sealed Patio

Warm sand, soft gray, and charcoal tones help the slab blend with your stucco, pavers, or landscaping. A sealer deepens the color and protects the surface.

Small stones show through the surface for a natural, textured look that hides dirt well.

Patio with Borders and Inlays

A contrasting border, a saw-cut pattern, or a stamped inset gives a plain slab a custom, designed feel.

Add-Ons That Make a Patio Feel Finished

  • Slab for an outdoor kitchen or grill island

  • Step-downs and landings to connect to the yard

— ENGINEERED SLAB STANDARDS

Built for South Florida Backyards

Subtropical downpours, sandy subgrades, and unrelenting solar exposure demand more than standard residential concrete pours. We engineer every patio to stay stable, dry, and crack-free through Florida's harshest seasons.

Drainage That Protects Your Home

A Base That Handles Sandy Soil

We slope the slab away from your house so rain doesn't collect near your walls or doors. We also check where water will go after it leaves the patio.

Soft sand can wash out under a slab. We compact the base and check it before the pour, which keeps your patio level over time.

Sun-Smart Surface Choices

Joints That Control Cracking

Light colors and lightly textured finishes stay more comfortable underfoot than dark, smooth ones. We'll show you samples in real sunlight at your site.

We plan the joint layout to match your patio's shape and furniture zones. Cracks, if they appear, follow the lines we cut.

Patio Care Tips

Rinse with water and a soft brush, not harsh chemicals.

Wipe up grease and grill spills right away.

Use furniture pads to prevent scratches.

Keep an eye on sprinkler spray near the edges.

Reseal every few years to keep color strong.

Final Walkthrough

We evaluate yard grade, patio dimensions, and drainage runoff to map out layout lines and elevation points that match your living space.

Crews excavate organic sod, compact a solid aggregate subbase, set true perimeter forms, and tie steel rebar grid for structural integrity.

We pour commercial mix, screed the plane flat, tool expansion joints, apply nonslip texture, and protect the slab with deep penetrating sealer.

Formwork is stripped, edges backfilled, and the jobsite cleaned thoroughly before walking the new patio together to inspect every detail.

Concrete Patio FAQs

What size patio do I need?

Plan around your furniture, then add walking room. A table for four typically needs about a 10-by-10-foot space, and a table for six needs more. If you want a grill or lounge area as well, add a separate zone. Mark the layout with chairs and a hose or paint before you decide.

Can you pour a new patio over my old one?

Sometimes. If the old slab is solid, level, and not badly cracked, resurfacing or an overlay may work. If it's sinking, heaving, or broken, new concrete over it will fail too. We inspect the slab first and tell you which path makes sense.

Will a concrete patio get too hot in the Florida sun?

Dark, smooth concrete can get hot. Light colors, a lightly textured finish, and shade from trees, a pergola, or an awning all help. We can show you samples at your home so you can feel the difference before choosing.

How do you keep water from pooling near my house?

We set a gentle slope away from the walls and test it with a level before and during the pour. If your yard has low spots, we may suggest a small grade change or drain. We never trap water against the foundation.

Can you build a patio under a screen enclosure, pergola, or outdoor kitchen?

Often, yes, but the slab has to be designed for the extra weight and any posts. Covers, enclosures, and outdoor kitchens may also need permits and plans. Tell us your plans at the start so we can build the right slab the first time. We'll also point out what to check with the city.

What finish is best for a patio that gets wet?

A broom or light stamped texture gives the best grip underfoot. Very smooth finishes can get slick when wet. We also use slip-resistant sealers when a sealed look is wanted.
